PRP Therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole blood, centrifuged to remove red blood cells. It has a greater concentration of growth factors than whole blood, and has been used to encourage a brisk healing response across several specialties, in particular dentistry, orthopaedics and dermatology.

Process Of PRP Therapy

Collecting Blood

A small amount of blood (30-60ml) is drawn from the patient's arm.

Separating the plateles

The blood goes for a "spin" in a centrifuge separating the platelets from the rest of the blood

Platelet-Rich Plasma

The patient's own platelet-rich plasma is now extracted from the test tube.

Return of PRP to the patient

The plasma is injected into the injured area or inflammed tissue
